How much does it cost?
One of the biggest questions people have when they first contact an attorney for estate planning is, “How much is all of this going to cost me?”
What they quickly learn is that most attorneys hate to answer that question.
At the Law Office of Dan Slater, we understand you don’t want to spend your life’s savings to protect your life’s savings. So here’s the simple answer: when you first come in to meet with Dan, you’re asked to pay a $150 consultation fee. At that point, you’ll go over your individual circumstances with Dan. If your circumstances call for nothing too complicated, here’s what it will cost:
– Simple Will: $250 (individual); $400 (couple)
– Simple Will with Living Will / Advance Medical Directives: $350 (individual); $550 (couple)
– For either of these options, the $150 consultation fee will be credited against the totals shown above.
If your situation requires more complicated estate planning, then the fee would be Dan’s hourly rate ($300 / hour) times the amount of time spent on your case.
Our office assists in doing this by helping you gather basic information, then reviewing that with you so that we can advise you on what you need to do to get your affairs in order, and to stay in control of your own affairs to the maximum extent possible, for as long as possible.
